Life Update 1

I just figured it would be good to post a quick update about life with how things are currently.

Because of the war and everything going on in Israel I ended up flying to the US, I was very fortunate to live in a place that is not geographically dangerous, but the mental strain due to it all was far too great and I needed to keep up with uni.

I am currently staying here with family, hopping between Connecticut and New York, everyone has been so kind and hospitable, I am very grateful for that. I am not a US citizen so I am currently staying as a tourist, I can only stay until mid-January, but I very much hope it will resolve prior to that. If it comes down to it, I am an EU citizen and could live there.

But even here it has been hard to keep a sense of normalcy, besides hearing all the news back in Israel, the amount of hate crimes and misinformation abroad is staggering, I try to avoid telling strangers that I am from Israel.

On a more positive side university has been going pretty alright and I am starting to feel way more confident with my maths, a lot of the engineering courses are getting pretty fun and exciting too.

I am also trying to make the best of it while here in the US and there are some slight culture shocks I enjoy seeing. I went to a CVS to buy medication and haircare, and seeing the shampoo locked, but not the medicine, was pretty amusing. I've also been to a Costco for the first time which was pretty crazy and I tried K-BBQ with my friend I haven't seen since last year.

Other than that, it's all been pretty good, I am in a pretty fortunate position and I am grateful for it, I just wish things didn't have to be this way and I hope that it all resolves sooner rather than later.
