Video Games
#hobby
I really love video games and think they can be a great way to deliver more dynamic narrative experiences, here are some I particularly love and feel like deserve a special mention!
| Game | Year Played | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Baba Is You | 2019 | This game was my introduction to good puzzle games, I am still amazed by the concepts in it and their execution, it permanently changed my views on gameplay in games and how they should be handled. |
| Disco Elysium | 2020 | Most immersed in a game I have ever been, the attention to detail and deep dives to deep philosophical and sociological concepts, on-point humour and extremely eloquent writing just make it an unforgettable narrative experience that feels personally tailored to you |
| Zero Escape 999 | 2019 | This game is the peak of experimental storytelling, it tells a story only possible on the Nintendo DS and does so amazingly, the mystery is very strong and airtight, everything feels connected and allows for a lot of speculation while having a very satisfying conclusion. |
| Hypnospace Outlaw | 2020 | It's like browsing fictional alternate reality social media and finding out a conspiracy theory plot in the process, absolutely phenomenal. |
| Exapunks | 2021 | Using programming concepts as part of a hacking puzzle game in order to solve real world situations is fantastic in concept and Zachtronics executed it flawlessly. |
